When your doula is also your birth photographer, you do not have to choose between support and images. You get the proven benefits of continuous labor support with the honest, artful photos that come from the trust we build together.
The best birth photos come from trust.
Birth is one of the most vulnerable days of your life.
When you trust the person behind the camera, you stop thinking about being photographed and get to experience your birth without worry.
Birth stories captured with the eye of an artist and the heart of a doula.
Because I already know when to step forward and when to step back, the images are unposed and honest.

Why Birth Photography Matters
There are moments in life you know you'll remember forever.
And then there are the moments you don't realize you're losing until they're gone.
The way your partner looked at you when they realized your baby was almost here. The nurse gently tucking your blanket around your shoulders. Your mother's tears from across the room. Your own face when you heard that first cry—the one you'll never truly see unless someone was there to preserve it.
Birth happens in a blur.
Hours collapse into minutes. Adrenaline takes over. Your mind focuses on one thing: bringing your baby safely into the world. In the days that follow, memories soften around the edges. Small details fade. The expressions. The quiet glances. The tiny moments that became your family's beginning.
Photography gives those memories somewhere to live.
"But won't my partner take photos?"
Your partner has a far more important role than holding a camera.
They are your steady hand during contractions. The voice reminding you how strong you are. The first person to meet your baby beside you.
The most meaningful photographs from your birth often include your partner—the tears they didn't know they shed, the pride on their face, the moment they held your baby for the first time. Those are moments they deserve to fully experience, not watch through a phone screen.
While they're loving you, I'm preserving the story you'll both want to relive.
The Most Common Thing My Clients Tell Me
"I’m so glad we did this.”
Not because they wanted perfect photos.
Because they wanted to remember.
To remember how tiny their baby looked on their chest.
How the room felt impossibly quiet before that first cry.
How their hands shook.
How they laughed through the tears.
How everything changed in a single breath.
Birth photography isn't about remembering what happened.
It's about remembering how it felt.
Because One Day...
One day your child will ask about the day they were born.
You'll tell them the story.
Then you'll open their birth album,
And instead of trying to find the words, you'll be able to show them the very first chapter of their life.
Because some moments deserve more than memory.
They deserve to be remembered forever.

Stories From Families I've Had the Honor of Serving
Birth is one of the most vulnerable, powerful, and unforgettable days of your life.
The greatest compliment I can receive is being invited into that space—and hearing that families felt supported, seen, and able to fully experience the moment.
"She became more than a photographer or doula."
"Emily quickly became more than a photographer or doula—she became a deeply trusted family friend. She supported me throughout pregnancy, advocated for me during a 40-hour labor, coached my husband, and stayed by our side even after birth. Somehow, I never once noticed her photographing such intimate moments, yet she captured every raw, once-in-a-lifetime memory so beautifully. The photography and videography she created for our family are truly ethereal."
— Alexandra N.
"The support, the photos, the film... everything."
"Emily supported me through pregnancy, loss, and finally the birth of our rainbow baby. During four days of labor, she never left my side. She guided me with wisdom, compassion, and unwavering encouragement when I needed it most. And somehow, through every tear and every breath, she documented it all so beautifully that I hardly noticed the camera. When I opened our gallery, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The images weren't just photographs—they were art. Our birth film feels like a love letter to everything we went through to bring our baby into the world."
— Savannah B.
"She supported and advocated for us."
"We originally hired Emily for birth photography, but ended up with a friend. Aside from the most beautiful birth photos we've ever seen, she also supported and advocated for us throughout labor and delivery. When complications made our birth traumatic, Emily stayed hours after delivery, holding my hand and loving on our family until everything settled. Hiring Emily was one of the best investments we made for welcoming our babies into the world—we loved her so much, we hired her twice."
— Destiny C.
"She genuinely cares so much about you and your birth."
"We were skeptical and didn't think hiring a birth photographer would be worth it—but we were entirely wrong. Not only do you get incredible photos and memories, but you get Emily. She genuinely cares so much about you, your birth, and your experience, helping in ways far beyond taking pictures… The support she showed throughout the entire journey is something I'll remember forever."
— Morgan M.
More Than Just Your Photographer.
I truly care about you and your birth.
Inviting someone into your birth is deeply personal. It isn't just about trusting their camera—it's about trusting their presence.
When you hire me, you're inviting someone who understands birth. Someone who knows when to quietly step back, when to move closer, and when a single photograph can preserve a moment that will never happen again.
As a certified birth doula and certified and fully accredited birth photographer who has documented more than 200 births, I know how to work seamlessly alongside your birth team without becoming part of the story. My goal is never to direct your birth—it is to honor it exactly as it unfolds.
What You Can Expect
A Calm Presence
I move quietly, work respectfully, and never interrupt the natural rhythm of your labor. Most families tell me they forgot I was even in the room.
Birth Knowledge
Because I understand the flow of labor and birth, I anticipate meaningful moments before they happen. I know when to be ready, when to give space, and how to navigate hospital rooms, birth centers, and home births with confidence and respect.
Cinematic Storytelling
Your gallery is more than a collection of beautiful images. It's a carefully crafted story. Every image is intentionally edited to preserve the emotion, atmosphere, and beauty of your birth.
Respect for Every Birth
Whether your birth is unmedicated, includes an epidural, is induced, becomes a cesarean birth, or takes an unexpected turn, your story deserves to be documented with the same care, dignity, and compassion. There is no "right" way to give birth—only your way.
Limited Availability
I intentionally accept only three births each month. Remaining on call 24/7 requires flexibility, and limiting my calendar ensures I can give every family my full attention when labor begins.
