START WITH A CONSULTATION

Birth does not happen one way, and it does not photograph one way. From behind my camera, I am not looking for a particular kind of birth. I am paying attention to the way yours takes shape in the room, including the things you will be too deep in it to notice for yourself. Labor may last a few hours or continue into the next day. The setting may be home, a hospital, a birth center, or somewhere unexpected. Medication may be part of the experience. The photographs should not make these births look alike. They should show what was true of yours. That becomes possible when you feel heard and supported. You do not have to perform for the camera. You get to be in the birth while I make sure the parts you could not see are there when you look back.

Welcome — My name is Emily Santi. I photograph and film births, and serve as a doula for families in Orlando and across Central Florida. I'm a Birth Becomes You certified and IAPBP-accredited birth photographer, and for more than seven years I've been showing up for families on what I call their birth-day, over 150 of them so far.

I photograph home births, hospital births, birth center births- every setting, every kind of labor. Every mother's birth is different, and I photograph it exactly as it happens for her. No two stories are the same, and every one matters.
