MATERNITY AND FRESH 48/NEWBORN
The chapters on either side of the birth.
Before, you are waiting for a person you have not met yet. After, they are here. I photograph the space around both.
Maternity
Most maternity sessions happen during the last month of pregnancy and last about an hour.
You can choose to have your session at home or outdoors. Some families love the comfort of their own space. Others want to explore one of Central Florida's parks or natural areas. There's no right choice. We simply choose the place that feels most like you.
You don't need to worry about posing or knowing what to do. I'll guide you throughout the session so everything feels relaxed and natural. My approach is gentle and documentary-inspired, with just enough direction to create photographs that feel polished without feeling too posed.
Partners, children, and pets are always welcome.
More than anything, I want these photographs to feel true to this season of your life.
Fresh 48
A Fresh 48 session takes place within the first two days after your baby is born, at the hospital, birth center, or home.
These sessions aren't about perfect hair or everyone looking at the camera. They're about meeting your baby.
The tiny hospital bassinet. The blanket they wrapped your baby in. Grandparents walking through the door for the first time. Your partner learning how to change a diaper. The little expressions that seem to change by the hour.
I don't direct much during a Fresh 48 session. I'll offer guidance if we want a few portraits together, but most of the time I'm simply documenting what's already happening.
Those first hours pass quickly. A Fresh 48 session gives you a way to remember them as they really were.
Newborn
Newborn sessions take place in your home during the first few weeks after birth.
By then, you've started finding your footing. Maybe the days still blur together, but you're learning each other. The nursery is finally being used. There's a favorite spot on the couch. Tiny clothes are draped over the back of a chair. Life has changed, even if the dishes are still in the sink.
That's exactly what I want to photograph.
You don't need a perfectly styled home, and your baby doesn't need to sleep through the entire session. I'll guide you when it helps, but I'm not trying to create a version of newborn life that doesn't exist.
The goal is simple: photographs that feel like home. The way you held your baby. The places where you spent those first weeks together. The little details you'll forget long before you expect to.
