A Winter Morning at Wekiwa Springs

They walked hand in hand down the winding trail, Alexandra's cream dress catching the light filtering through the oak canopy. As a photographer, these are the moments I wait for - when couples forget about the camera and simply exist in their joy. As someone who would later support them through 41 hours of labor, watching their connection during this session was particularly meaningful. Every touch, every glance, every shared laugh - all of it foreshadowing the strength they would soon display in Joshua's birth story.

Sometimes, as a birth photographer and doula, you get to witness a family's story unfold in chapters. This evening at Wekiwa Springs was just the beginning of Alexandra and Jonathan's journey to meeting baby Joshua. Little did we know then what an incredible story was yet to come.

This session was timed specifically to catch Central Florida's morning golden hour - that magical time when the sun sits low on the horizon, creating natural warmth and dimension in every frame. The park's diverse landscape offered the perfect mix of open light and filtered shadows, allowing for variety while maintaining consistent quality.
