Dear Oregon,
Before I packed my cameras and headed east to Florida's sunshine, you gave me one last gift - the chance to document sweet Mateo's first days. As I drove to this final Oregon newborn session, my heart was full of both endings and beginnings.
Three years of photographing Oregon families flashed through my mind as I captured Mateo's newborn details. How many babies had I documented in this gentle light? How many families had trusted me with their precious first days? Each click of my shutter felt like both a goodbye and a thank you.
To Mateo: You'll grow up in this beautiful corner of the world I called home for so long. Where tall trees touch the sky and mist hugs the mountains. Your newborn session was my love letter to Oregon - every image was infused with appreciation for the place that shaped me as a birth photographer.
Thank you to the countless families who invited me into their birth spaces and homes. For the soft light that taught me to see beauty in grey days. For helping me re-discover my calling as a birth photographer and doula. Mateo's session was the perfect farewell.
