Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book my birth photographer?
I recommend booking as early as your second trimester to ensure I’m available around your due date. Since births are unpredictable, I only take a limited number of clients each month to give you the dedicated attention you deserve.
What does “on-call” mean?
From 36–42 weeks (or sooner if your care provider expects an earlier birth), I’m officially on call for you—day or night. This means my bags are packed, my phone is on, and I’m ready to head your way as soon as you’re in active labor.
What if I go into labor in the middle of the night?
That’s part of birth work! I’ll come to you no matter the time—whether it’s 2 p.m. or 2 a.m.—so you don’t miss having your story documented.
Do you offer coverage for home, birth center, and hospital births?
Yes. I’ve photographed all types of births, including home, birth center, and hospital deliveries (including cesareans, where permitted). Every birth story deserves to be honored.
What if two clients give birth at the same time?
Because I only take a limited number of clients each month, this happens rarely. In the event of overlapping labors, I have a trusted network of backup photographers who are experienced in birth and can step in if needed.
How long will you stay?
I typically arrive in active labor and stay 1–2 hours after birth to capture those first snuggles, feeding, and bonding moments.
What if my birth ends up being very long?
Every birth unfolds differently. If your labor is extended, I’ll take breaks as needed but remain present to document your story from beginning to end.
How do you handle travel for births outside Orlando?
I serve families within a 2-hour radius of Orlando. For births further away or situations where timing is unpredictable, I may arrange overnight accommodations nearby to make sure I don’t miss anything.
What if my birth ends in a cesarean?
If your provider and hospital allow, I’ll join you in the OR. If not, I’ll document everything leading up to surgery and capture your first moments together afterward.
How many photos will I receive, and how are they delivered?
You’ll receive a fully edited digital gallery (typically 150–300 images, depending on your birth) delivered in a private, password-protected gallery. From there, you can download, share, or order prints.
Do you also offer newborn or maternity sessions?
Yes! I offer add-on maternity and in-home newborn sessions to complete your story. You can bundle these sessions with your birth package or book them later.
